The direct port entry (DPE) facility at the V. O. Chidambaranar Port has processed 10,465 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of export containers, surpassing the 10,000 TEUs milestone on August 27, 2025. This accounts for 7.15 per cent of the port’s total export laden volume of 146,418 TEUs.
The facility, operational since April 2025, has been serving customers in the hinterland adeptly by enabling direct connectivity to the terminal. This has resulted in faster cargo movement and reduced logistics costs.
