The government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) has sanctioned funds worth Rs 24.42 billion for preparatory works under the Koyambedu – Pattabiram Metro Project. Of the total amount, Rs 22.04 billion will be used for land acquisition and the remaining amount covers utility shifting, surveys, tree replanting and traffic management.
The project is likely to span 21.76 km with 19 elevated stations entailing an investment of Rs 99.28 billion. It will connect locations like Padi Pudhu Nagar, Mogappair, Ambattur, Thirumullaivoyal and Avadi, before culminating at Pattabiram (outer ring road).
