IR has achieved a cumulative freight loading of 413 mt during 2025-26 (as of June 2025), a 2 per cent increase from the corresponding period last year. This includes 209.1 mt of coal loaded during this period, with 136.7 mt loaded in June alone. Commodities such as pig iron and finished steel, foodgrains and containers recorded double-digit growth, while the movement of coal, cement and fertilisers witnessed a slowdown. IR generated Rs 448.7 billion in freight revenue during the same period, reflecting a 2 per cent increase over the previous year.
