The CERC has notified the draft CERC (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025. Under the amended provisions, the injection of infirm power will attract zero charges. However, for thermal generating stations, infirm power injected between the first synchronisation and the successful trial run will be compensated at the normal deviation rate, subject to a ceiling of Rs 2.86 per kWh.
