The Union Government laid the foundation stone for the Guntakal West-Mallappa Gate Rail Over Rail (ROR) Bridge Project on May 2, 2025.
The project involves construction of a 10 km long Rail Over Rail (ROR) between Guntakal West-Mallappa Gate Station in Andhra Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 2.93 billion.
Besides, the centre inaugurated the Bugganapalle Cement Nagar-Panyam rail section of the Guntur-Guntakal Railway Line Doubling Project. The project involves construction of a 401.47-km double railway line with electrification between Guntur-Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 38.87 billion. It will be funded through cost sharing of 50:50 by the Andhra Pradesh government and the Ministry of Railways.
