National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commenced trial runs on the 4.5 km Sarai Kale Khan-New Ashok Nagar stretch under the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project.
The trial runs are likely to be completed by May 2025. Besides, a comprehensive evaluation to assess the integration and coordination of the train with various subsystems, such as track, platform screen door, and overhead power supply system is likely to be conducted.
The project involves development of 82.15 km RRTS connecting the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs 302.74 billion.
