Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and Andhra Pradesh government sign MoU to develop 7 GW clean energy projects

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited (TPREL), has signed an MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh to develop up to 7,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid systems, with or without storage. The estimated investment for these projects is approximately Rs 490 billion. As part of the initiative, TPREL will conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and preliminary project development, while the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh will facilitate site identification and support evacuation infrastructure.

Reportedly, these projects will be developed under Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy, which aims to establish over 160,000 MW of renewable energy capacity with an investment potential of Rs 10 trillion.
