The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) granted safety clearance for the 20 km Bachwara-Mohiuddin section of the Hajipur-Bachwara line doubling project on May 14, 2019. Further, work on the 13 km Mohiuddin Nagar-Shahpur Patori section of the project is likely to be completed by June 2019. The entire project involves the doubling of the existing 72 km long railway line between Hajipur and Bachwara in Bihar at an investment of Rs 7.2 billion. It was sanctioned under Railway Budget 2015-16 and will include the development of 10 crossing stations and seven halt stations.
