IR plans to manufacture 50 Amrit Bharat version 2.0 trains by 2027

IR plans to manufacture a total of 50 new Amrit Bharat version 2.0 trains by 2027. These trains will be an upgraded version of the existing Amrit Bharat trains and will be manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. The updated trains will feature 12 enhancements, including semi-automatic couplers, a vacuum evacuation system, an on-board condition monitoring system and an electro-pneumatic assisted brake system, among others. Besides, IR is likely to operationalise four new Amrit Bharat trains in Pune, including two trains from Pune station to Danapur and Chhapra, and two trains from Hadapsar station to Muzaffarpur and Puri.
