Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation approves two metro routes in Gurugram

The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has recently approved two new metro routes in Gurugram. The new metro route will connect Bhondsi village to Gurugram railway station and Golf Course Extension Road to Sector 5. Further, it will be integrated into the rapid rail transit system network along the national highway, as well as the ongoing Gurugram metro extension project. HMRTC plans to hire consultants to prepare detailed project reports for these new routes.

The Gurugram Metro Rail (GMRL) project involves a 28.5 km metro extension from Millennium City Centre to Cyber Hub. Established last year, GMRL is a special purpose vehicle tasked with executing the project. The geo-technical survey for this route is nearing completion, and the process of hiring a design and general consultant is currently underway.
