The Surat Integrated Modal Transportation Development Corporation Limited (SITCO) has achieved a physical progress of about 50 per cent on the Redevelopment of Surat Railway Station Project in Gujarat. The project is expected to be completed by December 2027.
The project involves re-development of Surat railway station at an estimated cost of Rs 15 billion. Of this, Rs 9.8 billion has been earmarked for the first phase. The proposal also includes the construction of a 5 km elevated ring road to connect all sides of the station, aimed at easing traffic congestion.
