55.63 per cent physical progress achieved on Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor Project in Gujarat, Maharashtra

National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has achieved a physical progress of about 55.63 per cent on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor Project as on November 30, 2025. The overall financial progress stands at 69.62 per cent, with an expenditure of Rs 858.01 billion incurred till the same date.

Besides, 412 km of foundations, 405 km of piers, 344 km of girder casting, and 330 km of girder launching also have been completed for the project.

The project involves the development of a 508.17 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail (HSR) corridor in Maharashtra and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 1,080 billion. It is being implemented by a special purpose vehicle (SPV), named National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), incorporated by the Ministry of Railways (MoR) and the respective state governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat with an equity stake of 50:25:25, respectively. The project is the first corridor to be explored for the railway’s ambitious bullet train project and also includes a 21 km long sub-sea tunnel from Mumbai to Thane.
