National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) completed the launching of a 130-metre span of a 230-metre continuous steel (130+100) bridge over National Highway-64 and the Bharuch-Dahej freight line near Kanthariya Kanthariya village in Gujarat’s Bharuch district under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (HSR) Corridor Project.
The bridge features spans of 130 metres and 100 metres. The completed 130-metre span rises to a height of approximately 18 metres, has a width of 14.9 metres, and weighs around 2,780 metric tonnes. Fabricated in Bhuj, the structure has been designed for a service life of 100 years.
The project involves development of the 508.17 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor in Maharashtra and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 1,080 billion.
