Indian army, Airtel partner to boost connectivity in Arunachal’s frontier districts

The Indian army’s Dao division has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharti Airtel to strengthen mobile communication infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley and Anjaw districts.

The initiative is aimed at improving cellular network coverage and providing reliable communication facilities in the remote frontier areas, benefiting both local residents and deployed troops.

The enhanced connectivity will also enable development in key sectors such as education, healthcare, e-governance, and entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, the Dibang Valley and Dau Delai Valley in Anjaw, due to their difficult terrain and isolation, have long struggled with limited network access. The partnership seeks to address these challenges and bridge connectivity gaps in the region.
