Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority proposes laying a water pipeline to augment water supply to sectors 58-80 in Gurugram

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed laying a water pipeline to augment water supply from Sectors 58 to Sector 80 in Gurugram, Haryana. This pipeline will be laid along a Municipal Corporation Gurugram road in Fazilpur village. The plan also aims to make the boosting station in Sector 72 operational. This plan is subsequent to the initial plan of laying water pipelines between sectors 71 and 72. Under this initial plan, approximately 16 km of pipelines have been laid, out of a total proposed length of 17 km. The remaining 1 km of water pipeline will also be undertaken by GMDA within six months under the new plan.

Furthermore, this new pipeline is likely to draw water from the boosting station in Sector 72 with a capacity of 262 million litres per day. The boosting station will receive water from the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant. The boosting station will also address water shortages, especially during peak summer months with heavy reliance on water tankers. Currently, these areas receive the water supply from the sector 51 boosting station.
