Cabinet approves Bengaluru’s first tunnel road project worth Rs 126.90 billion 

The Karnataka Cabinet has approved Bengaluru’s first tunnel road project, with an estimated cost of Rs 126.90 billion. The project will be executed in phases, with the first phase involving the construction of an 18 km twin-tube corridor connecting Hebbal flyover to Central Silk Board Junction.

This corridor will feature five entry and exit points. Additionally, the cabinet has greenlit the construction of a 250 m sky deck as part of the project. The project is designed to link national highway (NH)-7 with NH-14, and the state government has urged for an allocation of Rs 300 billion to complete it. The tunnel road project is proposed as a joint venture between the state government and the National Highways Authority of India and will be executed through a public-private partnership model.
