CIL records 13.6 per cent increase in coal dispatch through railways in October 2023

Coal India Limited (CIL) has recorded an increase of 13.6 per cent in coal dispatch in October 2023 through railways. In October 2023, CIL has carried a total of 31.48 million tonnes (mt) of coal through railways which resulted in escalation of coal dispatches by 13.6 per cent when compared to corresponding period in 2022. In comparison to September 2023, the increase in offtake stood at 7.2 per cent. Furthermore, it used around 258 rakes per day in October 2023 as compared to 237.5 rakes in October 2022. Till October 2023, CIL has produced 393.97 mt of coal from 295 mines.
