Ministry of Railways inaugurates 2.26 km long tunnel under the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal Railway Project

The MoR inaugurated a 2.26 km tunnel in Marangching village in Noney district under the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway project on February 22, 2020. Besides, construction work on the 555 metreNoney railway bridge is likely to be completed by March 2022. The project involves laying of a 125 km new broad gauge railway line from Jiribam to Imphal via Tupul passing through the Barak valley and the proposed Tipaimukh dam in Manipur at an estimated cost of Rs 138.09 billion.
