Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with ABB India to jointly develop and supply propulsion systems for 25 kV metro rail projects across the country, along with a technology transfer for train control and monitoring systems applicable to both 750 V and 25 kV metro corridors.
As part of the agreement, key activities covering the design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of propulsion equipment including converters and traction motors will progressively be localised in India. This move supports the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, builds on the companies’ existing collaboration, and is expected to enhance domestic capabilities, strengthen self-reliance in advanced rail technologies.
