BPCL board accords approval for pre-project activities for greenfield oil refinery cum petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh

In a notable development, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) board has accorded approval for the commencement of pre-project activities at an estimated cost of Rs 61 billion for the greenfield oil refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh. The pre-project activities involve various preliminary studies, land identification and acquisition, preparation of detailed feasibility reports, environmental impact assessments, basic design engineering packages, and front-end engineering design. The project involves setting up a greenfield oil refinery-cum-petrochemical complex on about 5,000 acres of land at Ramayapatnam in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh at an investment of about Rs 950 billion.
