The Cabinet of Haryana approved the Delhi-Karnal Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project on March 24, 2026. The Delhi-Karnal RRTS spans 136.3 km and entails investment of Rs 330.51 billion. The corridor originates similarly from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and extends north through Haryana, covering major towns such as Sonipat, Panipat, and terminates at Karnal. The Government of Haryana (GoH) is likely to bear Rs 74.72 billion of the total cost.
Besides, the cabinet has approved the revised detailed project report for Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor under the Delhi Metro Project Phase IV on the same day. The state is likely to contribute Rs 4.48 billion of the cost, while Rs 0.97 billion is likely to be borne by the Central Government. The corridor involves the extension of the metro line from Narela to Kundli over a length of 2.73 km within Haryana, with two elevated stations at Kundli and Nathupur.
