CCEA approves Rs 69.69 billion project to improve UP’s connectivity and trade

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), approved Rs 69.69 billion for upgrading National Highway 927 (NH-927) into a four-lane greenfield highway in Uttar Pradesh. Spanning 169.64 km, the project connects Bareilly to the India-Nepal border at Khutni Ghat, enhancing links between NH-30 and NH-27.

This development will streamline travel for over 0.1 million vehicles daily, slashing congestion and cutting transit times. It boosts access to the India-Nepal trade corridor, vital for cross-border commerce, and opens new routes to tourist spots like Nainital and Jim Corbett National Park.

The highway supports Uttar Pradesh’s growth as an economic powerhouse by improving freight movement to Haldia and Kolkata ports via NH-27.
