The installation of third rail power system on the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated stretch under Kanpur Metro Rail Project Phase I has been completed. This section is about 5.3 km long and the power system supplies 750 volt DC to the metro trains.
Track construction on this section was completed around October 2025, and after the third rail installation, all the required testing and electrical approvals have been finished.
The Kanpur Metro Project involves development of 33 km long metro rail system in Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 110.76 billion.
