Four Guinness World Records have been set by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Rajpath Infracon. The milestones were accomplished while the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G) was being constructed. The team broke the first two world records on January 06, 2026, in the vicinity of Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. In under 24 hours, the NHAI completed the longest continuous laying of bituminous concrete in a single day, totalling 28.89 lane km (equal to a 3-lane wide segment stretching 9.63 km). Concurrently, 10,655 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete were placed in a single day, setting a second record. This was the first time that such numbers under a six-lane NH project had been documented worldwide.
On January 11, 2026, the teams set two more Guinness World Records under Package-2 and Package-3. These included setting a record for continuous paving of 156 lane km and continuously laying an enormous 57,500 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete. The previous world record, which was 84.4 lane km, was greatly exceeded by this 156 lane km stretch, which is equivalent to a 3-lane wide segment of 52 km. A vast fleet of cutting-edge construction machinery, comprising 70 tippers, five hot mix machines, one paver, and 17 rollers, was deployed by NHAI and Rajpath Infracon. In order to ensure that speed did not jeopardise safety or quality standards, the operation was supported by strict quality assurance procedures and overseen by top organisations, such as IIT Bombay, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
