With over 25 years of experience in electronics and embedded engineering, Raja Sundaramoorthy has led multidisciplinary teams across complete product lifecycles, from architecture and prototyping to validation and mass production. His career has spanned diverse sectors, including telecommunications, networking, automotive, consumer electronics, storage and IoT. At present, as VP of engineering at VVDN Technologies, he leads product engineering and manufacturing services for the company’s networking and Wi-Fi business unit. “What excites me most about my role is the opportunity to engage with the full spectrum of product and business processes, from requirement analysis and specification definition to roadmap creation, technology strategy, and product lifecycle management,” says Sundaramoorthy.
He believes that the technology and telecom sectors are undergoing a major transformation, driven by AI, advanced wireless standards and cloud-native architectures. “AI is becoming foundational to network operations, enabling autonomous, self-healing systems capable of predicting and resolving issues in real time. Wi-Fi 7 adoption is accelerating, bringing speeds up to 40 Gbps, 320 MHz channels and multi-link operation. Telecom providers are also moving toward cloud-native and software-defined frameworks (SDN/NFV).” he adds. Highly self-motivated, Sundaramoorthy considers his disciplined daily routine as one of his core strengths. It enhances his productivity and clarity. He describes his management style as a balanced blend of empowerment, strategic clarity and hands-on support.
I set high-level team goals and encourage individuals to self-manage, experiment and expand their capabilities beyond current comfort zones. I strongly believe in creating an environment where teams are trusted to take ownership, while I step in when required. Once the direction is clear and support is provided, I prefer to step back and let the team execute with confidence. This approach promotes accountability, innovation and long-term team development.
Sundaramoorthy is an electronics and communication engineer with a master’s degree in communication engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton. “I also have a passion for gardening. Spending time nurturing plants allows me to reset mentally and stay grounded,” he adds. His family includes his wife, a homemaker, and their two sons, who are currently pursuing their studies. “Their curiosity, aspirations and enthusiasm inspire me every day, and my family remains a strong source of motivation and support,” shares Sundaramoorthy.
