Centre allocates Rs 25 billion for highway projects in Northeast region

The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has received an additional allocation worth Rs 25 billion from the centre towards projects under the National Highways (Original)-NE component during 2025-26.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued an official directive regarding this amended allocation for road projects in the NE region.

The previous amount was Rs 61 billion, according the MoRTH order. The entire fund under the NH (O)-NE plan currently stands at Rs 86 billion after the additional funds were issued.
