Commercial operations commence at Navi Mumbai International Airport

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) commenced commercial operations on December 25, 2025, marked by the inaugural arrival of an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru.

On its opening day, the airport witnessed inaugural services by airlines including IndiGo, Air India Express and Akasa Air, handling 48 flights that connected nine domestic destinations. The airport served over 4,000 passengers, with peak traffic recorded between 05:00 and 07:00 hours.

NMIA is expected to progressively expand its operations to round-the-clock services in the coming months.
