The Rajasthan government is set to provide Rs 17,000 additional subsidy to electricity consumers who have installed rooftop solar systems as part of its 150 units per month free electricity scheme. Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) has initiated the disbursement process and transferred Rs 2.873 million to 169 beneficiary consumers. The state subsidy is over and above the maximum central assistance of Rs 78,000 available under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. With the combined support of up to Rs 95,000, the government estimates that a 1.1 kW rooftop solar system capable of generating 150 units per month can effectively be installed at zero cost for eligible consumers.
