Indian Railways (IR) has commissioned 812 megawatts (MW) of solar power plants and 93 MW of wind power plants till November 2025. Further, 100 MW of renewable power under round the clock (RTC) mode, tied up with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is also functional for traction purpose.
Additionally, 1,500 MW renewable capacity under RTC mode has been tied up to meet traction power requirement. It is a hybrid solution, consisting of solar, wind and storage component.
