A new function on the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) Rajmargyatra smartphone application will assist drivers in determining which highway route between any two locations has the lowest toll costs.
For frequent highway users, this improvement attempts to increase travel planning and cost effectiveness. Developed by the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), Rajmargyatra already offers commuters an effective grievance redressal system and comprehensive information about national highways.
The software will also help users choose the most cost-effective route in terms of tolls with the next update. There are currently three main routes available to commuters: Moradabad-Bareilly-Sitapur, Ghaziabad-Aligarh-Kanpur, and Yamuna Expressway. Users will soon be able to see which of these routes has the lowest toll costs through the app.
A growing number of traffic infractions has also drawn attention from the NHAI. According to data from the advanced traffic management system (ATMS), between June 21, 2025 and June 23, 2025, more than 0.17 million infractions were reported, including over 0.1 million instances of restricted vehicles, including two- and three-wheelers, using high-speed expressways like the Delhi-Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressways without permission.
