Tamil Nadu government lays foundation stone for development of underground drainage scheme in Hosur city in Krishnagiri district

The Tamil Nadu government has laid the foundation stone for the development of an underground drainage scheme in Hosur city, Krishnagiri district, on December 21, 2024. The project will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, a 12.51 mld sewage treatment plant (STP) at Santhapuram and a 20.13 mld capacity STP at Ramanaikken will be developed using sequential batch reactor technology. These STPs will partially or fully cover 35 of 45 wards in the Hosur City Municipal Corporation area on a design-build-operate-transfer basis at an estimated cost of Rs 5.83 billion. The remaining wards will be covered under the second phase.
