First calibration flight conducted at Noida airport

On April 18, 2024, the Noida International Airport conducted its first calibration flight to ensure seamless functioning of the navigation systems.

The Beechcraft King Air B300, a DVOR calibration flight was used to ensure that the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) navigation equipment work efficiently. Calibration flights for new airports ensure safety and accuracy before the commencement of commercial operations by verifying and fine-tuning navigation aids, runway lighting, and airspace. The airport’s first phase is likely to open for commercial operations in 2024. It is spread over 1,300 hectares and would have one runway and a terminal building with a passenger handling capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (mppa).
