NTPC Limited and Numaligarh Refinery Limited has signed a non-binding MoU to explore opportunities in NTPC’s bamboo-based bio-refinery at Bongaigaon and other green projects. The MoU envisages collaborative efforts of both the companies to strengthen their footprint in green projects while achieving the net-zero targets and serve as partners in the development of north-eastern region. The NTPC’s proposed project includes setting up a bio-refinery adjacent to NTPC’s thermal power plant in Bongaigaon, Assam to produce 2G ethanol from bamboo for blending in gasoline to produce ethanol blended petrol.
