NHAI has made plans to monetise about 46 highway stretches spanning 2,612 km length in 2023-24 via the InvIT and toll operate transfer (TOT) models. In addition to this, around half of the asset monetisation targets could be met via this route, with the potential raising of Rs 230 billion. If the target is achieved, this will mark a significant increase from just Rs 28.50 billion raised via InvIT in 2022-23.
The value of new highway stretches that could be offered for monetisation via InvIT could be around Rs 150 billion. This is in addition to Rs 70-80 billion expected to be raised from 6 stretches being monetised via this route by July 2023. The stretches would be revealed by June-end.
