The central government has inaugurated the Agra Water Supply Project (Gangajal Project) in Uttar Pradesh. The project aims to supply 140 cusecs of water per day to Agra from the Palra headworks in Bulandshahr’s Upper Ganga canal. It was implemented by Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and was funded by JICA. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 28.8 billion.
