Jupiter Wagons secures 91 MW/302.5 MWh BESS orders in Uttarakhand and West Bengal

Jupiter Wagons Limited, through its energy business JEM Energy, has secured standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totalling 91 MW/302.5 MWh from utilities in Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

In Uttarakhand, JEM Energy, in partnership with Madhav Infra Projects Limited, emerged as the L1 bidder for Cluster C of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited’s tender for a 41 MW/102.5 MWh BESS project. The project, worth Rs 1 billion, was awarded under the tariff-based competitive bidding mechanism. Meanwhile, JEM Energy has received the formal letter of award from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for a 50 MW/200 MWh standalone BESS project at the Jeerat 132 kV substation in North 24 Parganas. The project was secured in August 2026.
