ONGC drills second geothermal well at Puga Valley in Ladakh

ONGC has drilled the second geothermal well at the Puga Valley in Ladakh, achieving the targeted depth of 1,000 metres in around one month. The achievement paves the way for India’s first 1 MWe pilot geothermal power plant. It highlights ONGC’s technical capabilities. In addition, it has enhanced understanding of the Puga complex’s geology and led to notable reductions in drilling costs.
