Mangaluru International Airport in Karnataka has upgraded to a 900 metre precision approach lighting Category 1 system, becoming the first airport in India and the second in Asia to install this advanced airfield lighting. The upgrade improves runway visibility, strengthens pilot guidance during landing and enhances operational safety, especially on the airport’s challenging tabletop runway.
