NHPC Limited and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the procurement of power from NHPC’s 1,720 MW Kamala Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The agreement provides for the supply of power to TSECL for a period of 40 years from the commercial operation date of the project.
In a separate development, NHPC has announced the resumption of commercial generation from Unit 1 and Unit 2 (170 MW each) of the 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim. Both units resumed commercial generation after synchronisation with the grid. The company stated that commercial generation from Unit 3 will be intimated separately.
