Oil India announces new gas discovery at Dandewala Field in Rajasthan

Oil India Limited (OIL) has announced a new gas discovery at the nominated Dandewala field in Rajasthan. The well reportedly saw an inflow of around 25,000 standard cubic metres per day of natural gas from a depth of approximately 950 m. The discovery marks the first successful establishment of gas presence in the shallower Sanu formation in the Dandewala field. Preliminary estimates based on structural control, petrophysical and subsurface analysis have indicated a gas-in-place of 75 million standard cubic metres. The discovery enhances the prospectivity of the Dandewala field, indicating a notable potential for future appraisal, development and production.
