IR approves Mansi-Saharsa Railway Line Doubling Project in Bihar

Indian Railways (IR) approved the Mansi-Saharsa Railway Line Doubling Project on June 30, 2026. It has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 4.99 billion.

Moreover, the capacity utilisation of the section is likely to increase to 119.34 per cent by 2028-29.

The project involves doubling of the 44.4 km long Mansi-Saharsa railway line at an estimated cost of Rs 4.99 billion in Bihar. Once commissioned, it is expected to handle an additional 1.764 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of freight traffic.
