Indian Railway (IR) has approved the installation of Kavach on six rail sections of East Coast Railway (ECoR) covering 631 rkm at an estimated cost of Rs 2.7 billion.
The six railway sections are Baghuapal-Budhapank, Haridaspur-Paradeep, Khurda Road-Balangir, Naupada-Gunupur, Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh and Bobbili-Salur in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
It will benefit both passenger and freight train operations across key sections of Odisha.
