Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), one of India’s leading defence shipyards, has been granted the Navratna status by the Government of India. The new status gives the Kolkata-based public sector undertaking greater financial and operational autonomy, enabling faster investment decisions, expansion, and enhanced competitiveness in defence manufacturing.
GRSE has emerged as a key pillar of India’s maritime self-reliance, having delivered over 100 warships and maintained a strong order pipeline that includes advanced frigates, offshore patrol vessels, and next-generation corvettes.
