Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have inked a concession agreement for phase I of a compressed biogas (CBG) plant at Mankhurd, Mumbai. The plant will have a processing capacity of 350 tonnes per day (TPD) and is designed to convert organic waste into clean energy. The facility will use municipal organic waste collected from selected hotels, vegetable markets, and kitchen waste sources. This waste will be processed to produce CBG, helping create a sustainable source of energy while reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills.
