Texmaco Rail and Engineering Limited received an LoA worth Rs 1.3 billion for Package KBT-01 under the Kochi Metro Rail Phase II Project on May 8, 2026. Bids for the same were invited by Kochi Metro Rail Limited in August 2025. Package KBT-01 involves the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a ballastless track and connections of standard gauge in an elevated section. The work is likely to be completed in 16 months. The project involves the development of an 11.17 km long metro rail network from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to Infopark via Kakkanad as an extension of Phase I in Kerala with an investment of Rs 19.57 billion.
