Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has installed a mid-point runway visual range (RVR) system. With this, the airport now features RVR coverage at both runway ends as well as the mid-runway point, making it eligible for consideration under Category II (CAT II) airport operations, subject to approval and operational certification. The system will provide real-time runway visibility data for air traffic control (ATC) and pilots, enabling accurate decision-making during aircraft landing and take-off especially under adverse weather conditions.
