MoEFCC grants in-principle approval for diversion of forest land for Tawa Junction-Vadhvan Port Road Connectivity Project (NH-48) in Maharashtra

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has granted in-principle approval for the diversion of 237.1 hectares (ha) of forest land for the Tawa Junction-Vadhvan port road connectivity project (National Highway (NH)-48). The work is expected to be completed in 2.5 years. The project involves the construction of a 32.18 km long four-lane (expandable to eight lanes) access controlled highway section of NH-248S to connect Vadhvan port with Tawa Junction on NH-48 in Maharashtra. It will be implemented on an engineering, procurement and construction basis.
