The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed significant expenditure on water infrastructure in the budget for 2026-27. The civic body has proposed spending Rs 1.66 billion on the 100 mld capacity water treatment plant (WTP) and two water tanks at Basai. Further, a sum of Rs 540 million has been planned to be spent on the Chandu Budhera WTP, which has a capacity of 100 mld. The proposal is set to be submitted to the government of Haryana for approval soon.
