The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has received the CRZ clearance for the Manori desalination plant project from the Expert Appraisal Committee of the MoEFCC. The scope of work includes the construction of a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant with a capacity of 200 mld in Phase I, further expandable to 400 mld based on seawater reverse osmosis technology, including O&M for 20 years on a design-build-operate basis.
