Rohta-Luni-Marwar Junction Rail Line Doubling Project in Rajasthan gets in-principle approval

The Railway Board has granted in-principle approval for the doubling of the Rohta-Luni-Marwar junction at
an estimated cost of Rs 8.23 billion under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project.
One of the five nodes being developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project is the Jodhpur-
Pali-Marwar Industrial Area which is being developed by Rajasthan Industrial Corridors Development
Corporation Limited (RIDCO) on land in Rohat tehsil, located 22 km from Jodhpur and 40 km from Pali.
The railway line is expected to strengthen multimodal connectivity to the nodes, supporting freight
movement and industrial growth in the region.
The project involves development of global manufacturing and trading hubs on both sides of the Western
Dedicated Freight Corridors (WDFC) covering a distance of 1,483 km with an investment of Rs 4,230 billion.
DMIC will mainly pass through seven states- Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh and Maharashtra.
